DESCRIERE - POUSADA BARãO DE FORRESTER
This charming traditional inn is located in the village of Alijó, next to the Douro River. Its name is homage to Joseph James Forrester, an English Businessman, who lived in Portugal during the XIX century and who in 1855 received the title of Baron from King Fernando II due to his dedication to the state and his contribution to the Douro and the Port wine. Befitting for the name the historical hotel features vineyards and it is close to some of the most famous producers of Port wines. Sitting at only a 6-minute walk from the centre of the village, where guests can find a number of local restaurants, serving traditional Portuguese meals, it is the perfect place for a relaxed vacation. For a tasty meal and some boutique house wine they shouldn#039;t have to walk any further then the excellent onsite restaurant. Afterwards guests can opt for a pleasant stroll in the green garden.
